Peter Koštrun: Singularity 2004 – 2014
24 January – 18 March 2014
Peter Koštrun (1979) is one of the most important Slovenian photographers of the younger generation.
Koštrun is mainly known for its mostly deserted pictures of landscapes. He is less interested in the documentary dimension of landscape photography or reportage, but much more into rational or even conceptual tradition of photographic genres. In his work we would look in vain for a social, even engaged context; much of it deals with the issues of representation of images, or even autoreferentiality.
Since 2003 Koštrun participated in over 60 solo and group exhibitions around the world, recently in two shows in London and in the most important exhibitions for landscape photography “Sense of place” at the Bozar Expo in Brussels. The exhibition Singularity 2004-2014 provides an insight into the past decade of Koštrun’s artistic creation.
