Moderated round table discussion with photographers working on the verge of photojournalism and art photography.

Florian Rainer /AT/ and Dorota Holubová /SK/ will present their most recent project and will discuss their views, opinions and their own experiences with both above mentioned approaches in the most current photography trends.

Dorota Holubová (1989) is a professional freelance portrait and documentary photographer from Slovakia, based in Bratislava. Winner of the 1st prize Slovak Press Photo 2016 in category series „Everyday life“ and 1st prize Slovak Press Photo 2016 in category series „Portraits“. Dorota has finished master’s degree in 2012 at the Faculty of Philosophy, Comenius University in Bratislava and since than is working as external worker for the Central European House of Photography and in organisation team of the international photography festival Month of Photography in Bratislava. Her works was published in GUP magazine, MONO and VICE magazine, she exhibited her photo series „Balifornia“ in Indonesia and Slovakia. Nowadays she is working on long-term documentary project focused on women and communities.

Florian Rainer is a freelance photographer based in Vienna. He earns a living with magazine assignments, mainly portraits and reportage. He loves that. The rest of his time he works on free projects. He loves that even more. He is currently in the process of finishing up his Austrian photographic cycle. He is interested in the theory and history of the medium, photography as a social practice, and the idiosyncrasies of photographic representation. Florian holds Magister degrees in Sociology and Social Economics.
