Tomo Brejc has developed his own distinctive style of expression over the years, which he uses in both artistic and commercial photography. His continuous and permanent distinctive feature is reflected mainly in the so-called staged documentation, based on a solid conceptual background. Their character is a subtle, often completely irrational narrative that raises more questions than offers clear answers.

However, the last phase of Tomo Brejc’s photography which will be shown at Photo London 2022, metaphysical motivation comes to the fore, sublimated scenes of nature or the artificial environment of human civilization overshadow the once emphasised narrative. What can be discerned is an increasing formal consistency and research, focusing on the atmospheric properties of the scenes. His series are not final and complete. They represent a new direction in the ongoing formal exploration of the photographic medium and its immense expressive and confessional possibilities.
