Photon at the contemporary art fair Art Market Budapest 2011
Between the 27th and 30th October 2011 Photon Gallery is being presented at the Art Market 2011 in Millenaris Park in Budapest (Hungary). We are exhibiting the photographic series of the following artists: Roberto Kusterle (IT), Stanko Abadžić (CRO), Antonio Živkovič (SLO), Aniko Robitz (HU) in Alexander Valchev (BG). In the field of video art, works from Metka Zupanič (SLO) are on view.
This is the third edition of the International Fair in Budapest, which aims to promote art and the art market in Central and Eastern Europe and raise awareness of the amazing richness of art in the region. Art Market Budapest builds its program on the shortage in contents coming from these regions in the existing international art fairs and on opportunities for the smaller galleries in the region, which often find it hard to meet the financial conditions of the more established fairs to present themselves. The Art Market Budapest tries to fill the gap that has been for some years partly covered by the Viennafair as the primary exposition forum for galleries from Central and Eastern Europe. For the representatives of visual arts from the region, the existence of an additional fair, which prefers art from this part of Europe, certainly means good news!
In Photon, we see the point of our presentations at fairs exactly in such regionally relevant and financially affordable fairs. With the experience of five-year continuous appearance at the Viennafair, we note that we have gained recognizability exactly through such continuous collaboration with a strong regional profile.
