Laurent Ziegler
In his artistic endeavours, Laurent Ziegler (Vienna, Austria) focuses on photography, installation and performative work. He studied Political Science at the University of Vienna and later in Copenhagen. In the 1990s he completed various educational programs in contemporary dance and film. Laurent also teaches art and contemporary dance.
The focus of Laurent Ziegler’s art practice is the connection between visual art and contemporary dance at the intersection of performance and visual documentation. In the past, he collaborated with key representatives of the contemporary dance scene like Akram Khan, Ko Murobushi, Mirjam Morad and George Blaschke. He exhibited both locally, in Austria, and abroad. In Vienna, he is also a member of the Künstlerhaus Wien and the Bildrecht LLC art associations. He lives and works in Vienna.
