Jakub Stanek
Jakub Stanek (1988, Poland) studied photography at the Academy of Photography in Warsaw and the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava, and philosophy at the University of Warsaw. He founded the Sputnik mentoring program. For many years he lived in Milan, where he worked on documentary and commercial projects. In “Debuts 2015”, he was selected among the 50 best young Polish photographers. His work has been shown in several group and solo exhibitions in Poland and internationally. Exploring unknown subjects in his work, Stanek tries to open new perspectives for the viewer. He tries to create an intimate dialogue between himself and his subjects in his documentary projects, conveying visual and emotional information based on cultural knowledge. His interests and inspirations revolve around a modern man.
